(13C)-Urea Breath Test

The Kit for 13C-Urea Breath Test is a rapid and reliable diagnostic method based on the urease activity of Helicobacter pylori. After oral administration of ¹³C-labeled urea, the urease enzyme produced by H. pylori hydrolyzes urea into ammonia and ¹³CO₂. The labeled carbon dioxide is absorbed into the bloodstream and exhaled in the breath.

Breath samples are analyzed using an infrared energy spectrometer to detect increased levels of ¹³CO₂, confirming active infection. The test is non-radioactive, non-invasive, and suitable for repeated use.
