Columbia Blood Agar Base is a high-quality, non-selective culture medium used for the cultivation of a wide range of microorganisms, including fastidious organisms. When supplemented with sterile defibrinated blood, it supports the detection of hemolytic reactions and is widely used in clinical microbiology laboratories according to ISO 10272 standards.

For laboratory use in cultivation and isolation of microorganisms, especially for detection of hemolytic activity after blood supplementation.
Suspend 42 g in 950 ml of distilled water. Heat with frequent agitation until boiling. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to 50°C and aseptically add 50 ml of sterile defibrinated sheep blood. Mix well before pouring.
