Product Details

ESR Fast Detector is designed for manual determination of the Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR), a non-specific laboratory test commonly used in hematology testing.

The detector accommodates up to 10 compatible 8 × 120 mm ESR tubes simultaneously. Each channel features a clear graduated scale for convenient reading of the erythrocyte sedimentation level. Its multi-channel design allows several samples to be processed at the same time.

Compared with the traditional Westergren method, the ESR Fast Detector provides a compact and convenient setup with a sedimentation reading time of approximately 30 minutes when used according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Features
  • 10 channels for simultaneous ESR testing
  • Compatible with 8 × 120 mm ESR tubes
  • Clear graduated measurement scales
  • Approximate 30-minute sedimentation reading
  • Simple manual operation
  • Easy-to-read scale
  • Built-in leveling indicator
  • Compact laboratory design
  • Reusable detector
  • Suitable for routine ESR testing
Intended Use
  • Intended for the manual determination and reading of the Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) from appropriately collected blood samples using compatible 8 × 120 mm ESR tubes in laboratory settings.
Instructions
  1. Collect the venous blood sample according to standard laboratory procedures using a compatible 8 × 120 mm ESR vacuum tube.
  2. Immediately invert the tube 180° approximately 6–8 times to ensure thorough mixing and help prevent clotting or blood bubbles.
  3. Place the ESR Fast Detector on a stable, level surface.
  4. At a room temperature of approximately 20°C, position the blood-filled ESR tube vertically in one of the detector channels.
  5. Record the starting time and corresponding sample/channel number.
  6. Keep the tube vertical and undisturbed for approximately 30 minutes.
  7. Align the plasma concave surface with the zero mark on the detector scale.
  8. Read the sedimentation value in millimeters by aligning the upper erythrocyte level with the graduated scale.
What's included
  • 1 × ESR Fast Detector – 10 Channels
Precautions
  • For professional laboratory use.
  • Place the detector on a stable and level surface before use.
  • Keep ESR tubes vertical throughout the sedimentation period.
  • Tube inclination should not exceed approximately 3°, as excessive tilting may affect results.
  • Recommended testing temperature: 20 ± 5°C.
  • Recommended sedimentation time: 30 ± 2 minutes.
  • Mix the blood sample thoroughly according to the tube manufacturer's instructions before testing.
  • Avoid excessive shaking that may cause hemolysis or bubbles.
  • Use only compatible ESR tubes.
  • Handle all blood samples according to appropriate laboratory biosafety procedures.
How To Store
  • Store the detector in a clean, dry location away from excessive heat, moisture, direct sunlight, and contamination.
  • Keep the measuring channels and scales clean and undamaged.
