SD 70 Water Conductivity Testing Meter

The Lovibond® SD 70 is a portable conductivity meter designed for convenient and reliable conductivity measurement in water-testing and laboratory applications.

The meter automatically switches between µS and mS measurement ranges and provides a conductivity range up to 20.00 mS. It supports automatic one- or two-point calibration using 1413 µS and/or 12.88 mS conductivity standards, as well as manual calibration with adjustable values.

An integrated temperature measurement function provides 0.1°C resolution, selectable °C/°F units, and automatic temperature compensation at 2%/°C. The meter also includes date and time display, 25 measurement storage locations, a 22 × 22 mm LCD with green-yellow backlight, automatic shut-off after 8 minutes of inactivity, and a low-battery indicator.

The device operates using two AAA 1.5 V batteries and provides more than 100 hours of continuous operation when the backlight is not used. The replaceable electrode design helps simplify maintenance and extend practical service use.

1. Remove the protective cap from the electrode.
2. Rinse the electrode with distilled water before measurement.
3. Immerse the electrode in the sample, without immersing the meter above the sealing ring.
4. Switch on the device and allow the conductivity reading to stabilize.
5. The measurement is displayed automatically.
6. Press the measurement key briefly to freeze or release the displayed result when required.
7. Press and hold the save key for approximately 3 seconds to store the measurement.
8. Rinse the electrode with distilled water after measurement.
9. Calibrate the meter periodically using the appropriate conductivity standard.
10. Replace the protective cap after cleaning and before storage.

• Do not immerse the meter above the electrode sealing ring.
• Rinse the electrode with distilled water before and after measurements.
• Use suitable conductivity calibration solutions for calibration.
• Do not use the instrument outside its specified temperature or conductivity measuring range.
• Replace the electrode if it is damaged or produces persistent electrode-related errors.
• Keep the battery compartment dry.
• Remove or replace depleted batteries promptly.
• Do not dispose of used batteries with normal household waste; follow applicable battery-disposal requirements. 

• Clean and rinse the electrode with distilled water after use.
• Refit the protective cap before storage.
• Store the meter clean and dry.
• Protect the instrument from moisture, mechanical damage, and improper handling.
• If stored for an extended period, check the batteries before reuse.
