The Sickle Cell Test (Visual) is a simple and rapid diagnostic method used for the qualitative detection of Hemoglobin S (HbS) in blood.
The test is based on the reduced solubility of sickle hemoglobin under specific conditions, leading to turbidity in positive samples. It is commonly used for screening and diagnosis of sickle cell anemia and related hemoglobin disorders.

Qualitative detection of Hemoglobin S (HbS) in blood for screening and diagnosis of sickle cell disorders.
- Add 2.0 ml of sickling solution into test tube.
- Add sickle cell buffer and reagent.
- Add patient blood sample.
- Mix gently and leave at room temperature for 5–10 minutes.
- Observe turbidity and read results.
- Positive: Turbid solution (presence of HbS)
- Negative: Clear solution
