1.  Place the oxygen cylinder securely in the trolley and keep it upright.
2. Position the equipment on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area.
3. Have the regulator and connections installed by trained personnel or follow the supplier’s instructions.
4. Inspect the cylinder, regulator, pressure gauge and tubing before use.
5. Check for damage, leakage, crushed tubing or loose connections.
6. If humidification is prescribed, prepare the bottle according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
7. Connect the oxygen tubing to the designated outlet.
8. Open the cylinder valve slowly.
9. Set the regulator only to the medically prescribed flow rate.
10. After use, close the cylinder valve and follow the supplier’s instructions for releasing residual pressure.
11. Clean reusable accessories and replace consumable components as directed by the care provider.
