Adtemp™ 421 Tympanic IR Thermometer

The Adtemp™ 421 Tympanic IR Thermometer provides fast, reliable measurement of core body temperature from the ear in approximately one second. Its probe-cover-free design makes it convenient and economical for home and clinical use. It features a large illuminated LCD, an audible fever alarm at 37.5°C, dual °C/°F display, automatic shutoff, and memory for the last 12 readings.

• Measurement of body temperature from the ear canal in children and adults.

1. Press the ON/OFF button.
2. Wait until the °C or °F symbol flashes and the ready signal sounds.
3. For children under one year, gently pull the ear straight back.
4. For children one year and older and adults, gently pull the ear upward and backward.
5. While gently pulling the ear, insert the probe snugly into the ear canal.
6. Press the START button.
7. Wait for the confirmation beep.
8. Remove the thermometer and read the displayed temperature.
