Barrier Film

ALSHAMEL Barrier Film is a clear, flexible surface cover designed to support infection-control practices in dental clinics, medical facilities, and beauty clinics. It creates a temporary barrier between frequently touched surfaces and potential sources of contamination, including splashes, saliva, droplets, and procedural fluids.

The 35 μm film features a low-tack adhesive that helps it remain gently secured to suitable surfaces without leaving noticeable residue when removed correctly. Each roll contains 1,200 pre-perforated sheets measuring 4 × 6 inches (10 × 15 cm), allowing individual sheets to be separated quickly and conveniently, even while wearing gloves.

It is suitable for covering dental light handles, chair switches, control panels, instrument trays, and other frequently touched or difficult-to-clean areas. The film is intended for single use and should be replaced between users or procedures according to the facility’s approved infection-control policies.

1. Clean, disinfect, and dry the surface according to the facility’s protocol before applying the film.
2. Separate one sheet from the roll along the perforated line.
3. Position the sheet over the area requiring protection and ensure adequate coverage.
4. Press gently to help secure it, without overstretching the film.
5. Keep the film in place throughout the procedure and replace it immediately if torn, displaced, or visibly contaminated.
6. After the procedure, lift one edge and remove the sheet carefully while avoiding contact with its contaminated surface.
7. Dispose of it according to the facility’s infection-control and waste-disposal guidelines.
8. Clean and disinfect the underlying surface when required before applying a new sheet.
