DOSIVENT Neonatal Valved Holding Chamber with Mask

The DosiVent® neonatal valved holding chamber is designed to help administer inhaled medication to newborns and infants using metered-dose inhalers, as directed by a healthcare professional.

Its transparent, anti-static 150 mL chamber helps reduce medication adhesion to the chamber walls, while the one-way valve prevents exhaled air from entering the chamber. The soft silicone mask provides a comfortable seal around the nose and mouth during caregiver-assisted use.

The universal adapter connects the chamber to most metered-dose inhalers. Its lightweight design makes it easy to carry and clean, and its materials are free from DEHP and latex. The device is CE marked and manufactured in Spain.

1. Read the chamber and inhaler instructions before use, and follow the prescribed dose.
2. Inspect the chamber and mask for damage or loose parts.
3. Remove the inhaler cap and any chamber protective cap, if present. Shake the inhaler as directed by its manufacturer.
4. Insert the inhaler mouthpiece into the chamber’s rear adapter.
5. Place the mask over the infant’s nose and mouth, ensuring a close seal without excessive pressure.
6. Press the inhaler once at the start of inhalation. Allow the infant to breathe normally through the mask for 5–6 breaths while maintaining the seal.
7. If another puff is prescribed, wait for the interval specified in the inhaler instructions, then repeat. Administer one puff at a time.
8. Remove the inhaler after use and replace its cap.

Cleaning:

• Clean the chamber and mask weekly according to the supplied leaflet.

• Use lukewarm water and a mild detergent, rinse the parts, and allow them to air dry completely before reassembly.

• Inspect the chamber and mask before every use. Do not use a damaged device.

• Do not release several puffs into the chamber at once.

• Do not boil the device or use sterilisation or heat cleaning above 70°C, as this may damage it.

• Keep away from direct heat and out of children’s reach when unsupervised.

• Follow the supplied cleaning instructions and ensure that all parts are dry before reassembly.

• Store in a clean, cool, dry place.

• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and moisture.

• Ensure that the chamber and mask are completely dry before storage.

• Keep in the original packaging when not in use to protect it from dust.

• Keep out of children’s reach when unsupervised.
