1. Select the appropriate tray for the required arch and size, and check its fit before loading the impression material.
2. Inspect the tray for cracks, sharp edges, or other damage.
3. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for preparation before use, and apply tray adhesive if required by the impression material.
4. Prepare a compatible impression material and load it into the tray according to the material manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Position and stabilize the tray in the mouth until the specified setting time is complete, then carefully remove it using the handle.
6. Handle the impression according to the established infection-control protocol, and discard the tray after use. Do not reuse.
