Adscope® 601 Convertible Cardiology Stethoscope

The Adscope® 601 is designed for a range of clinical examinations. Its convertible chestpiece can be configured with an adult diaphragm and bell, or with adult and pediatric diaphragms. The AFD diaphragms respond to changes in pressure: light pressure is used to hear lower-frequency sounds, while firmer pressure is used for higher-frequency sounds.

The precision-machined surgical stainless-steel chestpiece includes a deep bell and sensitive diaphragms, with non-chill rims for patient comfort. Dual-bore tubing and Adsoft™ Plus eartips support comfortable listening. The stethoscope measures approximately 71 cm overall and includes a bell attachment, two spare pairs of eartips, and a scope ID tag.

1. The Adscope® 601 is intended for healthcare professionals to listen to heart, lung, and other body sounds during clinical examinations of adults and children.

1. Inspect the stethoscope before use and ensure the eartips and chestpiece components are securely attached.
2. Select the appropriate configuration: an adult diaphragm and bell, or adult and pediatric diaphragms. To fit the bell, remove the pediatric diaphragm by turning it counterclockwise, then screw the bell on clockwise until secure.
3. Point the eartips forward, toward the bridge of the nose, and place them gently in your ears.
4. Select the listening side by rotating the chestpiece 180° until it clicks into place.
5. Place the chestpiece on the examination site. When using an AFD diaphragm, apply light pressure for low-frequency sounds and firmer pressure for high-frequency sounds.
6. Clean and disinfect the stethoscope between patients, including the chestpiece, tubing, binaurals, and eartips.

1. Ensure the eartips are securely attached before use, and inspect the components for damage.
2. Clean and disinfect the stethoscope between patients, wiping the chestpiece, tubing, binaurals, and eartips.
3. Keep the stethoscope and its accessories away from children. Small parts may pose a choking hazard, and the tubing may pose a strangulation hazard.
4. Do not immerse the stethoscope in liquid. Allow all cleaned components to dry completely before reassembly.
5. Do not steam sterilize or autoclave. If sterilization is necessary, follow the manufacturer’s instructions for gas sterilization.
6. Avoid extreme heat or cold, solvents, oils, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
7. Do not bend the binaurals excessively when adjusting them, as this may weaken the spring.
