Adscope® 605 Infant Stethoscope

The Adscope® 605 is designed for infant auscultation during clinical examinations. Its compact surgical stainless steel chestpiece has two selectable sides: a sensitive 1⅛-inch diaphragm for high-frequency sounds and a ⅞-inch bell for low-frequency sounds. The clinician can rotate the chestpiece to select the side needed for the examination.

Non-chill contact rims help make placement against an infant’s skin more comfortable. The stethoscope also features flexible Y-tubing and Adsoft™ Plus silicone eartips for a comfortable, secure fit. It measures approximately 75 cm overall and weighs approximately 117 g. A spare diaphragm, two pairs of spare eartips, and a scope ID tag are included.

1. Intended for healthcare professionals to auscultate heart, lung, bowel, and other body sounds in infants during clinical examinations.

1. Check that the diaphragm is intact and the eartips are firmly attached before use.
2. Insert the eartips with their tips pointing forward, toward the nose.
3. Hold the chestpiece stem and rotate the chestpiece 180° until it clicks into place. The mark on the stem indicates the active side.
4. Use the diaphragm for high-frequency sounds, or place the bell lightly against the skin for low-frequency sounds.
5. After the examination, clean and disinfect the chestpiece, tubing, and eartips before use with another patient.

1. Do not use the stethoscope unless the eartips are firmly secured.
2. Inspect the diaphragm, tubing, and eartips before use. Stop using the stethoscope if any part is damaged or loose.
3. Clean and disinfect the stethoscope between patients to reduce cross-contamination.
4. Keep eartips and other small parts out of children’s reach, as they may pose a choking hazard.
5. Keep the tubing away from children and never leave it wrapped around an infant’s neck.
6. Do not immerse the stethoscope in liquid or sterilize it by steam or autoclave.
7. Avoid extreme heat or cold, solvents, oils, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
